Gratitude Blocks

By request - a photo of 24 Gratitude blocks from my Moda tower. I am pleased with the richness of the colors! I used all the prints except for about 4 of very large birds - because I want to save the birds. And 1 cream print which I used for the cornerstones for my Grandmother's Choice top. And - I still have enough fabric to keep making blocks - lots more blocks. Except 1 tiny little thing - my iron broke yesterday. Nothing like a dead iron to stop a quilter in her tracks! Not sure how my finished top will look as I won't follow the pattern exactly...

You can see Little Boy's foot in the next photo - he is asking - "are there any pins, Momma?" He wasn't on the Shakespeare quilt because I had many of the edge pieces pinned and he knows that bare feet and pins just aren't a good combination! He always asks about pins first!!!

Thanks for all the compliments on Shakespeare - I have all those border triangles pieces sewn together now, but can't go any further until the iron situation is resolved!

Your Shakespeare quilt looks like masterpiece work, Evelyn. Oh, how I love that pattern in whatever colors I have seen it!

Your gratitude blocks are wonderful as well. Little Boy is being quite smart in checking for pins. Wonder what you will use for the churn dash part and the sashing. Best stay tuned to follow your progress!

Boy have you been a busy sewing bee this year007! First Shakespeare and now this! Wasn’t this your 2nd Shakespeare top??? Seems like I remember you doing one before…

Who new olive green, turquoise, chocolate brown, and coral would all look so great together??? Your Gratitude blocks are really stunning Starfishy!

I wonder if Little Boy learned the hard way about watching for pins? I had stuck a needle in a spool of thread once, and the spool fell on the floor. Nobody was willing to just pull it out for me, so I had to go to the emergency room, who had to take an xray before they pulled it out.

I love the fabrics that you chose for your Gratitude centres! I can hardly wait to see what you use as sashing on these great fabrics to set them off. At first I thought you had already sashed them and then I realized that that was the floor! *LOL* But fabric the colour of your floor might work.

I do love the richness of color in your Gratitude blocks. That quilt will be a scrumptious looking quilt.

The blues of your Shapespeare quilt are stunning. Another winning quilt, for sure.

Love the gratitude blocks. I have this quilt on my "wish" list. Sounds like you're raising Little Boy right..... Make him marry a quilter.....
