Cushions

Perhaps the 1st step to recovering cushions is... don't even start thinking about how much $$$ this fabric costs per yard. The large directional print did have me a bit worried as the idea is to get as many cushions as possible with what fabric there is... so - not to waste tons of fabric matching the pattern, but fortunately, so far it is working out just fine. This huge panel of fabric (1 of the 2 rolls) was only enough for 4 large cushions... I have 3 completely done and 1 more cut out! Next I will do 4 small cushions and then see what I have left over - hopefully enough for at least 1 more big and 1 more small?

Obviously, more fabric will have to be purchased to make a total of the 12 cushions needed. These aren't for me - but I thought I would show you what I've been working on; sewing wise. Lots of fun stuff to report, but I've got to get back to these cushions while I am on a roll!

Hi Evelyn, just popping in to say hi and see what you've been up lately. I was so surprised to find you in Cape Cod...LOL, my goodness! You certainly DO get around, don't you?? But great experiences for LIttle Boy.

The cushions look just great. I've done a few of those, but I sure don't love doing it! More power to you. The possible future project block is gorgeous.
And I love the Green Ocean waves. The quilting looks perfect and what a good idea about the binding. I'll have to try that tip.
The felted mittens are so much fun, looks like he is happy even in the big unfelted ones...LOL
He IS getting so grown up looking. Seems like he was just a toddler. Time sure flys. Big hugs and thinking of you often as I use this bit of fabric or another, Finn

I thought I would stop in and say hello.

That fabric makes the best cushions. You are making the cushions for someone else? You have done a great job. Certainly much different fabric than the original.

Quite the chunk of ice sitting on the shore. Great picture. Must be interesting alright working around 3 different residences - I have a hard enough time searching my stuff out in one house - LOL. Goodness if I had to look in a completely different country.

You're doing a great job, but I don't envy you having to do all the rest. I used to do lots of other sewing, cushions, curtains, clothes, bags, costumes, but now I think "Yuk!" I'll stick to the patchwork and quilting, that's what I love best.
