My knitting project

Well, 1 skein of 4 knit, 2- 3 more to go. This is supposed to be a Cape Cod Shell Scarf using Frog Tree Alpaca yarn. The pattern called for 4 skeins but I am thinking that 3 will do very nicely. You can see the pattern here: www.kyarns.com/frog-tree-alpaca-knitting-patterns.html . Anyway, I don't think that my scarf looks anything at all like what it is supposed to so I am a bit disappointed because the store sample was beautiful... but I still like it and have invested a fair amount of time already, so I will keep going. It isn't like I don't know how to knit... for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the pattern to look like it is supposed to. Oh well, it is an easy pattern and fairly mindless - after a long day I do like to sit down and knit a few rows. When I finish this - I really should finish my Nordic ski sweater, ah, but that requires me to actually concentrate - HA! Posted by Picasa

its a pretty pattern. Perhaps after blocking it you'll be a little happier

I only like to do mindless knitting. I think enough when I'm quilting! I just knitted my first hat today and it turned out great! I can't wait to make another one. I've crocheted a bunch of them but most of the crochet hat patterns look bulky so I'm really happy about being able to knit hats now.

I even used double pointed needles for the first time - it wasn't pretty while I was doing it but the hat looks good.

I'm doing a scarf in a similar pattern with Lornas Laces sock yarn. Your scarf is great and I love the colour too! Knitting is a wonderful companion to quilting :-)

nothing beats knitting to relax and enjoy a break. love the color of the scarf-too bad it did not turn out the way you wanted..

The color of your scarf is so rich! It is looking quite nice to me! Pictures/samples are only meant to be guidelines, anyway.

beautiful scarf-to-be! Do you think blocking will solve your problems?

It looks beautiful to me, I just made a similar one in black. I just sewed up part of one side and it became a pullover and looks great. I will try to put a picture on my blog soon.
