New Kitchen!

Ta-Da! Our kitchen WAS vintage 1950's. DH took advantage of our absense by having a new kitchen installed. Phew - what a relief. I didn't have to make 1 single decision - it is all done - right down to the cabinet knobs. This new kitchen hides lots of surprises including a closet pantry, concealed dishwasher next to the sink and a fold-out ironing board from that free-standing cabinet. I love it! What's not to love about missing out on a construction zone, with a toddler, right in the heart and soul of your home?

Wow! What a great welcome home gift. I can see your glow of happiness all the way back in the States! I was wondering when you were going to make the trip back to winter in Austria..thought I had missed it. I'm glad that little boy is such a good traveler. He probably handles it better than I would.

So you are back to Austria and what a great surprise! I have been reading your last few posts, and totally agree about how much more productive you can be without kids asking questions and entertaining you, lol, in the daytime. I just wish I wasn't so tired at night! Maybe middle of the night, after a nap,is the way to go, hee hee!!

That's why we've not heard from you for awhile, and why you've not mentioned your DH for some time. I didn't realize you left him in Europe! That has to be really hard to do every year. And what a great guy - a brand new kitchen is a wonderful Christmas gift! It's beautiful - sleek and sparkling and new. I'm glad you arrived safely and that your trip wasn't any more eventful - it seems eventful enough!

Nice kitchen!

It may have been easier to do without a toddler around, but didn't the toddler miss the fun hammers and saws and tool belts? :)

Love your new kitchen and even better that you didn't have to live with it with a toddler. I love your new method of testing fabric. Did you find any fabrics that bled?

NEAT! (Toddler tub - I'm gonna need one of those as my condo does not have a tub...)

Glad you arrived safely. The new kitchen looks good and it's great that it was all done by the time you got there. We had our kitchen remodeled a couple years ago and it was a nightmare!
